Programming

Our focal areas include fostering leadership skills, promoting cultural heritage awareness, and engaging in community service. Our initiatives, such as STE[A]M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math) and the Healthy Living Initiative, demonstrate our commitment to multifaceted growth. Our guiding philosophy revolves around nurturing the overall development of young individuals, subsequently benefiting our communities. The national theme that drives us is “The Power to Make a Difference.”

At the core of our organization lies Chapter Programming—an essential element and the “heart” of what we do.  This approach serves as a means to connect with children and facilitate their growth and development. Our chapters are mandated to carry out activities aligned with the National Program Thrusts, spanning areas like education, culture, civic engagement, social/recreational aspects, and health, with the goal of achieving meaningful impact across different grade groups.

City of Lakes Chapter Programming historically includes:

  • Monthly Grade Group Programming
  • Carole Robertson Day / Jack and Jill Day
  • Founder’s Day
  • MLK Day
  • Black Family Day
  • Healthy Living
  • Day at the Capitol

The City of Lakes Chapter is featured in Annual National Publications Up The Hill and SCOPE.
